              Our breeding program is the development of a dual-purpose Rambouillet and SAMM (German Meat Merino) based on genetics.  We have full-blooded Rambouillet ewes and rams plus 15/16 or greater SAMM ewes and rams.  15/16 is considered purebred by the animal breeding community.  Our SAMM foundation was purchased as replacement ewes and rams from the Kitzan Sheep, Nisland, SD.  The Rambouillet genetics have come from two of the country’s best breeders that just happen to be from our state.  The rams have been purchased from Tim Brown, Buffalo, SD and the females from John Johnson, Belle Fourche, SD .  Our other genetics were purchased through complete dispersions of the Chuck Winn flock (Colorado/Utah); Georgine Le Bar Estate (Douglas, Wyoming); and ewes from the Chew Brothers (Colorado/Utah). 

              The Lazy VC Kelly Ranch, Inc. is a 8,600 acre working sheep ranch located twenty-seven miles northwest of Faith, South Dakota, on range land that has Rabbit Creek, Brushy Creek, and the Moreau River running through the property.

               We are breeders of fine wool sheep that put pound on your lambs, increasing production and longevity of your herd.  These are range sheep that fend for themselves, not pampered barn lot sheep. They make our living!  Yocom McColl does the testing of our wool and monitoring nutritional status of livestock using the NUTBAL PRO system.

               Each fall we sell 350-500  5- and 6-year old ewes bred back.  These ewes will raise two to three more lambs in a smaller or feed lot environment.
